Unguarded But Not Unboundaried

“What I love about the Writers’ Knot is the way you hold a space that is unguarded but not unboundaried.”
That’s what one member said to me at the end of the last season of the writing group.
For nearly ten years, I’ve had the great privilege of leading online writing communities. When I heard that comment, I knew I had been given the words to describe exactly what I most wanted to offer. This group is a place to be both safe and open, a place to take risks and build trust.
I also think of the Writers’ Knot as the place where mythic imagination meets creative expression.
In this space, folks from around the world gather to learn from each other and support one another.
Something magical happens when we write together, separated by the miles but united by the writing prompts and the desire to discover something new on the page.
And that magic carries through to the brief sharing circle that we hold at the end of each call and the deep dive conversations we have in our monthly writers’ salons.
Many folks sign up season after season. Being in the Writers’ Knot gives them permission to prioritize their writing. It’s a place to open up to the unknown and to write down the untold stories they’ve carried with them for so long.
Some use the group as an anchor for their consistent writing practice. Others join us because it’s the only time they’ll have a chance to pick up a pen during the week.
Right now, we’re welcoming new members to the Writers’ Knot
Are you feeling called to join us? You have two groups to choose from.
The group that meets on Wednesdays at noon ET is for women only and has just one seat remaining.
Or, join us at 3 PM ET on Fridays - there’s a remarkable group of writers from across the US and Ireland coming together for these end-of-the-week writing sessions!
Your individual voice matters now more than ever. I can’t wait to write with you.
Love, Marisa
